After our Antelope Canyon tours, Ian and I stayed overnight at a hotel in Page. Horse shoe bend was really close to our hotel and we woke up at 4am the next morning to arrive before the sun came up so we could watch the sunrise there. It was 40 degrees and we were freezing, but it was amazing and totally worth it.
We parked right near the bend and had to walk a little ways away up a hill (fairly short walk – less than a half mile), until you hit the amazing landscape on the other side of the hill. There weren’t many people there at first, but then once the sun started rising a few more people started showing up. We stayed there for a couple hours.
Horse Shoe Bend is absolutely stunning and pictures do not do it justice. It was definitely worth the early rise and freezing our butts off to experience Horse Shoe Bend. It would probably be even better to watch the sunset in this location, because the sunset would be on the other side of the rocks, instead of behind us.

A pretty close drive from the Antelope canyons is the Glen Canyon Dam. It was a pretty magnificent site that you can just drive through or quickly park on the side of the road to take in the scenery.
